Show Time...

Well, this is it, the big day is just around the corner. It's finally starting to set in that I'm not going to be in this place for a long time, and I'm finding out its going to be harder to leave everything behind than I thought. It's kind of funny how it takes something like moving away to make you realize how lucky you were to be surrounded by the people that you love. Being away from my family and friends is going to be really hard for me, I have never been away from everyone for more than a month in my entire life, so this is definitely going to be an experience for me.

I'm sure this transition will be hard at first...but what good is an adventure anyways if you don't put yourself out there, do things you have never done before, learn things about yourself and your life that you were previously oblivious to. Long story short...Tomorrow will definitely be a day of mixed feelings. :/ :D

Laura and I have been packing meticulously for the past 3 days, so at least we will have everything we need! I think the pictures pretty much speak for themselves. You can see all of the packing pictures here.

As of now, I still don't have a job or a place to live in Jackson Hole. However, I do have several options lined up for both. Let's just say as soon as we get there I have a LOT of people to meet with lol. I will be sure to fill everyone in when I figure things out.

Laura and I are planning on taking three days to get to Jackson Hole, a 28-hour 1,855 mile journey. On the way we are stopping to see the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, and Devil's Tower! I can't wait, and I'm sure in the next week or so you will see a post about them all.

Well, it's getting late, and I am getting up in 3 hours to shower and hit the road, so wish us luck and safe travels! As always, comments on these posts are greatly appreciated, and will motivate me to keep at it!

The first move...of at least 2

I just got back from a week long, much needed vacation to New York City to visit my friend Marcus. Laura, Marcus, and I are all great friends, and we basically had a week of fun things planned everyday. It was like my last time to just relax before Jackson Hole. I recently got a DSLR camera (which I bought mostly for JH), so New York was a great arena to test it out. Below is one of my favorite pictures that I took of the Statue of Liberty.

Anyways, now that I am home, it's time to get the ball rolling. This week I will be moving all my stuff from my current residence to my family's house, and start to put things aside that I'm going to move. Laura and I called some apartments today, and are still trying to find a place to live. JH has an infamous housing situation, where there simply aren't enough beds for the amount of people who live there, and zoning restrictions prevent new construction. So I am a little worried finding a place is going to be harder than we anticipated...but here's to wishful thinking.

As far as jobs go, I didn't get the website design position for JH resort like I was hoping, but that may turn out to be a good thing. Afterall, I am going to JH as an adventure, and to be a ski bum while I still can, given that I'm currently living without all the responsibilities most people have.

More updates on the job/home/move to come!
